Maple Rock Dog Park

A little space to enjoy being together

We created Maple Rock Dog Park because we know a trip to the dog park isn’t relaxing for every dog—or every person. Sometimes you want to let your dog run, sniff, and explore without watching the gate to see who might come in next.

At Maple Rock, you reserve the fenced park for a private 45-minute visit. During that time, it’s yours to enjoy with the dogs included in your booking. Throw a ball, try the equipment, or slow down and let your dog investigate every interesting spot. There’s no group to join and no pressure to do anything but enjoy your time together.

We built this space at Petite Paws for our community and visitors to the Ruston area. It can be a wonderful option for a dog who needs distance from unfamiliar dogs, a fully vaccinated puppy getting comfortable in new places, or anyone who would simply feel better having the park to themselves.

Traveling with your dog? If you’re staying at a local Airbnb or passing through Ruston, you’re welcome here too. Please create an account and submit your dog’s vaccine records ahead of your visit so we can review them before you book.

Come see what your dog discovers

Maple Rock is a fenced, grassy park with room for a good game of fetch and plenty for curious noses to investigate. Around the park, you’ll find:

• Open grassy space for running, playing, and exploring
• A tunnel, A-frame, and teeter-totter
• A tether pole for use with a tug toy you bring from home
• A river rock feature and bridge
• Shade sails and places to pause together
• A seasonal splash pad, available April through November

Some dogs will head straight for the equipment. Others will be perfectly happy following a scent through the grass. Both sound like a good visit to us. The price of your session stays the same whether or not it’s splash pad season.

Package details

• Five prepaid visits, with one reservation required for each visit
• Credits expire 60 days after purchase
• Each dog included on the package must be registered and approved for park use
• You’re welcome to book a single visit whenever you’d like. The package is there if you know you’ll want to come back.

Park hours and reservations

Private play sessions are scheduled in 45-minute blocks, with 15 minutes between reservations:

The booking calendar will show which sessions are available on the date you choose. Some times may be reserved for Petite Paws activities, including PPPH guest splash pad sessions during its April–November season.

Your 45-minute reservation includes time to gather your things and head out. We leave 15 minutes between sessions so each guest has a little breathing room before the next visit begins. If you’d like more time, you can reserve another available session.

Getting ready to book

If you’re already a Petite Paws client, log in to your Customer Portal account and check that your dog’s information and vaccine records are current.

If you’re new to Petite Paws, create a Customer Portal account. Complete your information and a profile for each dog you plan to bring, then submit their vaccine records. You do not need to use our boarding or daycare services to visit Maple Rock.

Requirements for each dog

• At least 16 weeks old
• Fully vaccinated, with current records submitted and approved
• Registered in your Customer Portal account
• Required vaccines: DHAPP, leptospirosis, rabies, and Bordetella.

Once your dogs are approved, choose Maple Rock Dog Park under reservations in the portal and select an available date and time.

When you arrive, check in with Petite Paws staff before entering the park. Check out with staff when you finish so we can confirm your visit and apply a package credit, if you have one. If you have no credits remaining, you’ll need to purchase a new package or pay for a single visit before entering the park.

We’re not taking reservations quite yet. The new sod needs time to take root, and we’re putting the finishing touches on the park. We’ll update this page as soon as booking opens.

A few things to bring along

• Bring a leash for each dog. Dogs must be leashed outside the fenced park, but may enjoy their visit off leash once safely inside. Please leash them again before opening the gate to leave.
• Bring drinking water and a bowl for your dog. There’s a hose at the park if you’d like to fill your bowl, but we don’t provide a shared drinking bowl. You’re welcome to bring toys and small training treats, too. If your dog wants to play with the tether pole, bring a tug toy to attach to it. Please take all of your toys home afterward.
• Waste bags are helpful to have with you. There’s a receptacle in the park for disposing of your dog’s waste.
• If you forget a water bottle, treats, or a toy, we’ll have a small selection for purchase in the Petite Paws office during office hours: 7–11 a.m. and 2–6 p.m. The office is closed from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

Finding your way and caring for the park

Please park on the north side of Maple Rock near the nature trail. This leaves the parking spaces closest to our building open for boarding and daycare drop-off and pick-up.

The nature trail is for Petite Paws Pet Hotel staff and guests only. It is not part of a Maple Rock Dog Park reservation and is not available for park visitors to use.

An adult 18 or older must bring and supervise the dog throughout the visit. Dogs may never be left unattended. Maple Rock’s equipment and splash pad are for dogs; the park is not a children’s playground.

Please pick up after your dog and help us leave the park ready for the next visitor. Digging isn’t allowed. If your dog begins to dig, stop them and let our staff know about any disturbed ground so we can check it.

A private visit can be a good fit for dogs who feel nervous around unfamiliar dogs or need a little more space. Visits are self-directed and at your own risk. Petite Paws staff are on site, and security cameras monitor the area, but staff do not supervise individual sessions.
